I think it's time for a new pattern in English. At the moment I am very busy in freeform- crochet, crochet streetart, yarnbombing, guerillacrochet and so on.
Most of the pieces I am working are freeform, but today I am working some rainbow colored eyes. They are easily made, so you can work some and join me with spreading some colors in your surrounding.
For the eyes you'll need:
- leftover yarn (dk or aran weight ist fine, but you can take whatever you have) in white, black and all colors of the rainbow in two different shades (red, orange, yellow, green, light blue, dark blue, purple)
- scissors
- yarn needle
- hook 4mm or corresponding to your yarn
Each eye is worked in one rainbow color. So you have 7 eyes in the end. Of course it is no problem if you make only one eye or use other colors... Feel free to make your own thing. Crochet is creativity!
Abbreviations:
- slst - slip stitch
- sc - single crochet
- ch - chain
- hdc - half double crochet
- dc - double crochet
- fo - fasten off
--> pattern is written in US terms.
Pattern:
work in rounds, start every round with a standig stitch and end with a slst (not mentioned in the pattern)
1. (black): 6 sc in magic ring. fo (6)
2. (lighter shade of your first rainbow color): 2 hdc in the back loop of each st. fo (12)
3. (white): in back loops only:* (dc, ch 2, dc) in first st, hdc in next st, 2 sc in next st, sc in next st, 2 sc in next st, hdc in next st*. Repeat once more from *-*. fo (18 st and 2x ch 2)
4. (darker shade of your first rainbow color): *(hdc, ch 2, hdc) into ch 2, sc all around until next ch 2*. Repeat one more time from *-*. fo (22 st and 2x ch 2)
Now sew in all rests of yarn. First eye is ready now. Repeat the pattern with the other 6 Eyes.
